Marie Fischer's Diary - Pt.1

WW2 Zombies -The story so far...

Marie's Journal - June 22, 1943

Here we are going to look into some of the key points from Marie's Journal, which is being unlocked by YouTubers receiving mystery gifts from Sledgehammer which is pretty cool. Marie Fischer

The first section of the entry on June 22, 1943 discusses Marie's struggle at Prince William County with the Colonel. Prince William County is located in Virginia, and is a relatively quite rural area, but does have some significant ties to WW2. The Prince William Forest Park was used to to train people for WW2. 

'Over 6,000 people trained in the park, near Dumfries, Va., to be spies, to intercept radio signals and to do translation, says National Park Service Director Jon Jarvis.' (WTOP, 2012)

This opens the questiona s to what Marie is training to be, as she could just be working translation, or could something much cooler like a spy ( That would be cool for the story imo.)

The next section discusses contact with a friend in the UK, offering a potential inroad to behind enemy lines, with the cover of focusing on recovering and safeguarding cultural and historic monuments. The group is called 'The Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives Program'. The organisation is pretty straight forward, working in museums etc... protecting and recording the art, whilst notifying people on restorations that were needed. The exciting part of these missions came when discovering Nazi loot, stolen during the war. However, this would be 2 years after the current date of Marie's diary, so it is unclear whether or not this was part of her story.

She then swings directly into dropping her home town, Mittelburg most famous for it's castle, which is one of a set of four castles in the area. Could this be the castle showed in the image Marie kept? Is Mittleburg even her hometown? The wording of the sentence is weird, suggesting she either wants to move through Mittleburg to her hometown, or that Mittleburg is her hometown, still a bit unsure on that one. 

Marie mentions an exodus in Bavaria, ten years prior to her Journal date. This puts the time around 1933, which is around the time that the Nazi's took power and Bavaria's parliament was dissolved into Nazi power (Side note Bavaria is known for its magnificent castle which would be an insane zombies map). She then references the Beer Hall Putsch, which was a failed Nazi coop in 1923 and where Hitler was notably sentenced to prison, 10 years prior to when Marie said she was involved. 1933 was notably when the Nazi's gained power, which would be the exodus Marie is referring to. 
The final part Marie references about herself is her training with the OSS. The Office of Strategic Services was a wartime U.S intelligence agency and predecessor of the C.I.A (Marie was a spy, that's so cool). But, because of this she now feels inclined to save her brother due to her training.

Klaus Fischer

Klaus seems to be a very complicated guy, who develops some sort of mental issues throughout WW2. Initially Marie mentions that the messages from Klaus border on madness, suggesting his previous letter on the discovery of Barbarossa's sword, and the research he had done with professor Linden were crazy. However, this is the angle Marie is using to rescue him as it seems. She then talks about Klaus's magnificent ability and brain that had began to wear thin. He graduated top of his class at Heidelberg ( Yes where Richtofen himself studied ) and was mentored by the Deustche Physik who opposed Albert Einstein's work but was labelled 'Jewish Physics'. He was a patriot, but had maybe fallen into the Nazi trap and was being brainwashed. It seems unclear where he stands mentally, maybe bordering on insanity as time moves on.
