Let's discuss story implications from the trailer...
We finally got a first look into the WW2 Nazi Zombies world with the reveal trailer, which was published during the SDCC Panel last night. This got zombies fans hyped across the globe, maybe too hyped if you're name is Milo a.k.a @MrRoflWaffles ...
One of the main talking points in the trailer, not really story related, is the presentation of the Iron Cross over the Swastika in Nazi Zombies. People have become quite irritated and annoyed that they chose to do this, as it is not historically correct, however, they're more paying respect to Germany's decision to ban this symbol. For me, this is not that big of a deal, the banning of the symbol is understandable, and the Iron Cross has just as much symbolism in relation to the German Army. From the off as you can see below, they clearly focused on putting it in peoples heads that they were using the Iron Cross as the main German Army Symbolism.
In one section of the trailer, the screen pans to this magnificent statue of Frederick Barbarossa, sword in hand. This I believe will have big story/ Easter Egg implications, in terms of finding this artefact which is part of the MFAA mission plan. In the image, there also appears to an arch shaped door which is closed off, suggesting we may potentially need to open this at some point. There is also something positioned in front of the statue, which is hard to make out, maybe something that Straub has used to awaken Barbarossa or something he has used to try and obtain the artefact i n the depths of the chamber.
Another part of this trailer focuses on this raised platform, which looks like an experiment paltform for Straub, where he's been testing on zombies with the use of braces, armour plating and other bodily operations. This, as a result, creates different zombies as seen throughout the trailer, some with face braces, others with metal arms. This is also as intriguing as the lightning tunnel shown in the trailer. At this point I am unsure what this is used for, maybe to re wake the dead into this zombie form, or maybe to supercharge this boss zombie that we see towards the end of the trailer ' The devil himself '. But damn do these areas look good.
The final thing to talk about is the 'Boss Zombie' the 'Devil Himself'. Now, there is speculation about who this could be, many people saying this very well could be Marie's brother, Klaus. Or could this even be a re-invented Barbarossa? Either way, this guy looks badass, with the Iron Cross embedded into his chest, and a giant metal spiked arm for a weapon. This guy looks like he might take a few bullets to kill, and people might wanna stay away from him...
This trailer definitely impressed the entire community, even with the murmurs of the Iron Cross and the female characters not being historically correct ( which i disagree with ). But, I am definitely ready to kill many Nazi Zombies in the near future. Moving on, SHG stated that more Intel will follow this week, as they mentioned that perks, mystery box, and wonder weapons will all be available in this version of zombies.
I will be working on profiling our main characters soon when more Intel is released, please leave your feedback and story ideas either on twitter or here, or even get involved on the sub-reddit!
Thank you.
